2012 Trauma/EMS Symposium Scheduled for June 4th
The 2012 Trauma/EMS Symposium is a collaborative effort that addresses the continuum of care for the injured/ill person. Interdisciplinary cooperation is a hallmark of a coordinated system for patient care.
Target audience: Registered nurses, and fire & EMS professionals.

This activity has been submitted to WNA CEAP for approval to award contact hours. Wisconsin Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Continuing education hours for EMS personnel have been applied for from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Program includes breakfast and lunch.

Emergency Management of Radiation Accident Victims Program
This one-day, tuition-free program is being offered at NIPSTA in cooperation with the Radiation Emergency Assistance Center/Training Site. It is intended to assist those who must recognize the symptoms of radiation exposure and/or treat the victims of a radiological incident, such as a transportation accident, a nuclear power plant emergency, or the detonation of a radiological dispersal device or an improvised nuclear device.
The target audience for this training includes fire, police, and emergency medical services personnel, and hospital nurses, physicians, and emergency planners who are involved in planning, preparedness, and/or contaminated patient handling. Continuing Medical Education credits are available to all participants.
